W Family Reunion

Every year, my mom's family has a reunion. This year, it was held at the R City Park. It was a lot of fun to be with my nieces and nephews, to hang with my hubs and parents, and to see my extended family. We had a good time! J was having a difficult time that day.... ha ha!
They had huge blow-up water-slides for the kids and yummy food (including the delicious cheesy dutch oven potatoes with bacon - my mouth is currently watering....)
We had fun passing the volleyball back and forth too!
Good summer times!!!

E Family Reunion - Summer 2012

What a fun weekend! The E family never ceases to amaze me at how much fun we can have! R&C were in charge of the family reunion this year and it did not disappoint! Friday evening, we had fun family time and had breakfast for dinner! (my personal fav!) Then we just sat around and shot the breeze..... Unfortunately, all my pictures from Friday night somehow disappeared :(

Saturday morning early, all the teenagers and a few adults headed down to the D temple to do baptisms for the dead. It was so fun to be together with everyone in the temple! Afterward, we had a delicious breakfast at IHOP.  We then headed to L-town park to take some family pictures. This is the first time in several years that EVERYONE was together! So we took the opportunity to capture all the awesome peeps!

You know with as many grandkids as my parents have that there is bound to be at least one kid not looking at the camera and one that is crying.....(but they're all still cute!)
After pictures, we played at the park for a bit (it was a hotttttt day!), had a picnic lunch,  and then headed home to the "car wash" to cool off!

A slip'n'slide was added in the mix.....
The best part to top off the day was the sno-cone machine!

Even the adults loved the sno-cones!

After the sno-cones and all the water fun, we headed out front to help Grandma and Grandpa replace their front window...
There was good times to be had all afternoon. We even had delicious kabobs for dinner!

Cortney and the entourage....
And...... an E family event would not be complete without someone needing to visit the emergency room :(

All-in-all it was a fantastic, fun weekend with the whole fam! We love these guys!

Mt. Ogden Hike

On  one of my days off, my friend Becky, her son, and I decided we would summit Mt. Ogden!
This summer has been really busy, and exercising has taken a back seat. To say that this hike was tough would be an understatement. The last time I hiked up to Mt. Ogden, I was in the best shape of my life. Remembering how easy it was at that time, I thought it would be no problem to hike it. I am proud to say that we made it to the top! By the time we got back down the car, our legs were like Jello! It was such a beautiful hike!
We started from the bottom of Snowbasin and hiked up the east side of the mountain. Part way up the mountain, the trail could go either way. Since it had been a while since I had hiked it (and couldn't remember which way to go), we decided to bush-whack it up the mountain. We climbed up about a quarter of a mile when I almost stepped on a rattlesnake!
It coiled up, I jumped back, and then it slithered off. I felt like I had jumped about 10 feet in the air. It was scary! My heart was beating about a million times a minute. We decided to go back down the mountain a little to find a longer, but safer (ha ha) trail.
When we got to the top, there was a crew working on the towers up there. They were waiting for a helicopter to come pick them up. We teased that they should take us for a free helicopter ride.  After we had left the towers to go back down, the helicopter came to pick them up. It was cool to see that! The flowers up there were beautiful!
It was so nice to be able to go for  hike, as well as enjoy nature! The sunburns and the leg burns were worth it!

 Thanks, Becky and Baby P!

Girls' Camping Trip

Last weekend I went with my friend Emily and her friends up on a camping trip. We were planning on heading to the Uintas to go backpacking, but the weather looked to be cold and rainy, with strict no-fire restrictions. Because that didn't sound to appealing, they decided that camping up the canyon would be a much better option. We got there on Friday afternoon and just chilled until the rest of the group got there. We then took a little hike up to Donut Falls. It was so pretty up there! I just love them mountains!

When we got back, we made an awesome dutch oven dinner of pasta with veggies and chicken. Oh, and grilled corn on the cob. It was so delicious! We stayed in a group campsite the first night because the campground was so full. They let us park the camper in the parking lot. It was just funny because of this sign...
 View from our campground...

During dinner it started to rain and get chilly, so we headed into Pablo (Angie's camper) and talked about houses (4 of the 6 of us girls are currently in the market for homes). Then when the rain cleared up, we headed back out to make a fire (in a designated fire pit, don't worry!). It was then s'mores time! I love s'mores! I slept so good that night inside of the camper (We need us one of those!).

Meet Pablo...

In the morning we switched camp sites and made some awesome mountain-man breakfast in the dutch ovens. I played with my macro lens to practice a bit. So cool!

After breakfast, we headed out to find us a good hike! On the way to the hike it began to pour. We decided to wait a bit and see if it would clear up. No such luck. We headed back to camp. Then 3 of the 6 girls headed home. After they left, the rain cleared up! So Emily, Angie, and I took our bikes and started up the canyon. The ride up was slow, but the ride down was awesome!

When we got back, I loaded up my car, made a sandwich to go, and took off! It was a fun little outing! Thanks, Emily for inviting me! It was fun to make some new friends, too! I missed Cortney while I was gone and hurried home to my Hully Bully.  On the night I got home, I was getting on to my desktop to start some photo editing when I noticed my background desktop photo:
Cortney had found this photo and put it up there! It made me chuckle as well as feel loved. :)  It was a good weekend!
