Spring Biking

One of my most favorite things to do is to ride my bike. I love both road and mountain biking! In the process of losing weight, I would go to many-a spin class. After all those calorie-burning spin classes at the gym during the freezing cold winter, I was ever-so-excited to get outside when it was warm! We had such a beautiful spring!

Memorial Day

When I heard that a few of my siblings might be in town for Memorial Day weekend, I suggested we get together for a delicious breakfast! It was so much fun to see everyone and hang out with the kiddos! I tried my hand in making my first batch of cinnamon rolls. They were very tasty and actually turned out! (I have this habit of trying new recipes/feats whenever I am going to be feeding other people besides me and my husband. Success has been in my favor so far-luck, I guess!). I just love my family! It's so fun to see all the cousins play!

May Day Play Day

Occasionally when Cortney is off with the scouts or doing things with friends, I like to hang out with my nieces and nephews. This time, we headed to my in-laws to play on the trampoline and jungle gym.

We then headed for a gourmet meal at Chik-fil-A. This is where my nephew, S, introduced me to Chik-fil-A sauce. I will never be the same.  I could drink that stuff! Mmmmmm. So good!

After we let the food rest a bit, we headed to the pool! It was somewhat chilly outside to be swimming, but the water was warm enough to compensate.  Only after about 30 minutes in the water, they asked us to get out because of a code brown!

After we sat at the sidelines for a half-hour and were freezing (with no end in sight), we decided to call it and head back to my house. We cleaned up and enjoyed a little Netflix before the kiddos went home. We had a ton of fun!

The Suby

I bought a car once from my best friend Jayne. I had just come home from my mission and was at her house visiting her. Her husband called her while I was there (he was in town looking at cars) and said he found a car for them to buy. If I remember right, it was kind of unexpected (but he had a hobby of buying a different car a couple times a year). I had always wanted a Subaru (you know, to be cool and sporty and outdoorsy and stuff and to go camping and biking and hiking and to make it places when the weather wasn't so great). The kind people that they are, they sold me their red Subaru at a great deal! (Thanks again, years later!).  This car has been so good to me! It had protected me in many a snowstorm, survived me driving into the carport with my bike on top, survived my seminary teacher and mother-in-law backing into it, and safely got us to my sister's house in a really horrendous snow storm http://thewertandwilms.blogspot.com/2010/01/monticello-trip-epic-road-trip.html.

Well, after having the car for 6 years, we decided that it would be a good time for us to upgrade a car for me. We sold it to a very happy teenager! The ruby Suby was a 1996.  We purchased a newer and slightly larger car. A 2000 Subaru Outback. It had more miles than the ruby Suby, but was newer and in great condition! This is not my car, but what my car looks like...
It is a great upgrade! Here's to more adventures!

Fun Times

I am very grateful for healthy bodies! I don't know how (let's be honest, I do - from being lazy, sitting on my butt, and eating a lot of bad foods!), but I gained 40 pounds in a year last year - 2012. I subsequently lost those 40 pounds this spring! I can't tell you how grateful I am to be able to move without limitations and to run amuck anywhere I want!

Those who know me know that I love the outdoors! My good friend Lauren also loves the outdoors! We decided to embark on an adventure up Baer Canyon. It was a beautiful spring day and the weather was perfect! It was overcast and the temperature was just right! We hiked up the canyon a ways until we couldn't find the trail (come to find out later, you just have to cross the river to get to the trail again, ha ha!).  'Twas a beautiful hike! I always am so happy whenever I'm outside!

We are awesome...

That night when our husbands got off work, we headed to Planet Fun! It was a KSL deal that we got that was sweet! They had an awesome pizza buffet and cool games! We had a snack on the way down of chips. We decided that the chip-clips were a great fashion statement!

We played laser tag a couple of times! One time, we played against a bunch of tween boys that thought they could beat us. Wrong, there! We totally beat them! It was really funny (but kind of sad in a we-just-defeated-and-punctured-their-egos sort of way).
