It's what fun is!

We had always wanted to go to Lagoon with our best friends. Since Lagoon was soon to be closing for the season and the weather was perfect, we decided to hit the road! It was such a fun day! We stopped at McDonald's along the way to get some grub.

We "accidentally" dressed the same, ha ha!

We went on all the fun rides and all realized we aren't as young as we used to be! Don't worry, though. We recovered completely by eating ice cream! Apparently the ice cream shop needs to invest in better spoons. Every person accidentally broke their spoon as they were eating the ice cream! At first, we made fun of Cortney for breaking his spoon. Then Lauren broke her spoon. I broke mine. Then Justin broke his.

Here are the remnants!

Don't worry. We all escaped this scary ride unscathed.
It was such a fun day! Thanks Lauren and Justin for coming with us!

Hike to the M

On Saturday while my sister was at my house practicing the piano with me, she mentioned how her and my niece were planning on going hiking that afternoon. I was sold! Hiking + spending time with family = a happy DeAnn! It was a beautiful fall day and the temperature was perfect! Their dog, Bo even made the trek!

When we were finished, it was a must that my niece show me her Halloween costume! Sweet!

Because we burned a dangerous amount of calories as we were hiking, we needed to replenish them with Pretzelmaker pretzels!

What a fun afternoon!

Hunting

I have a dear brother who loves to hunt and fish. He invited me this fall to come hunting with him. He took me and my niece on a special girl's hunting trip. We did a lot of deer pushing and spotting. Luckily the weather held up for the most part for us to be out. We didn't get anything while we were out, but we had fun spending time with each other!

What's hunting without treats?!?

It was nice to spend time with the E family and enjoy their company!

 Soooo cute!

Thanks for letting me come hunting with you, Potty!

The Missionaries Leave

A mission is a wonderful thing! Both me and my husband were able to serve missions of our own back in the day. Cortney's brother and my nephew recently left to go serve the Lord on a 2 year mission. They both left the same day to the same mission.

Elder C

Monday night we were able to go up to the C house to have dinner and spend some time with Elder C before he left.  He is going to be a great missionary!

Tuesday night, we were able to be at the T house when Elder T was set apart as a missionary by the Stake President. It was neat to be there for that!
Wednesday morning, Elder T packed up his things and we headed down to the MTC.

The last picture in front of the house!

On the way...

We stopped for some fine-dining before going to the temple to take pictures...

At the temple taking pictures before the drop-off at the MTC...

They have a pretty cool process for dropping off missionaries now. I'm glad we don't have to sit through a meeting anymore! We drive up to the curb and they have missionaries that come and help the missionary go where he needs to go. It was pretty cool!

Saying goodbye...

 Off on his own...
We will miss these missionaries dearly! I think it's fantastic they are sacrificing two years of their life to do the work of the Lord! I'm so excited for them!

To calm our emotions, we stopped at Cabela's on the way home. Cortney had never been before.

The maiden voyage...

Then we stopped at Dairy Queen to eat some food on the way home. What a day!
