Family Reunion Time!

All I can say is that we have the most awesome family in the whole wide world! Last Sunday and Monday, we attended the E family reunion! It was small and simple, but it was so much fun to see and be with all of my siblings and their families. We had an awesome time! We got together on Sunday and had a nice dinner in my parents' backyard. Before and after that we just spent time with each other being weird and having fun! Here are some epic photos of the good times:

Yeeeeee haw!!!!

Last week we were lucky enough to have my dad take us horse riding! We went to the mountains just east of Mountain Green and it was so great! I have loved to ride horses since I was little and it was nice to get back in the saddle again. Cortney had only ridden a horse one other time in his life, so it was a great new experience for him and he was a natural cowboy. My dad was so great to take us riding and to help teach Cortney how to ride. It was so fun! It was a very beautiful day and we even had a picnic in the middle of a nice meadow. Here are some pictures of our fun adventure........

Here's my dad teaching Cortney how to saddle a horse....

Because we got high........the legal way:)

Two weeks ago, Cortney and I had the opportunity to take an awesome hike up to Lewis Peak. We both love hiking and haven't been able to go as often as we'd like, so it was nice to get out. Cortney had never been up to Lewis Peak, and it'd been a long time since I'd been there so we wanted to go. It was awesome! And so very beautiful! It was a tough little hike, but very worth it! It was great to get out! It's so nice to be able to reflect on the beauties of the earth and to enjoy the peace, quiet, and serenity of it all.

Here is an awesome quote I heard several years ago that really explains why hiking rocks........

"You cannot stay on the summit forever, you have to come down again. So, why bother in the first place? Just this: what is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower reaches by memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know."
-French Mountaineer, Rene Daumal

So there you have it! Hiking rocks!
