Healing for 100 Years 5k!

This morning, Cortney and I had the opportunity to participate in the McKay-Dee Hospital's "Healing for 100 years 5k"! It was very awesome (except for the weather, that is :)). It started at 24th street and headed up Harrison Boulevard until the hospital. Yes, it was all uphill. Yes, it was 50 degrees this morning. Yes, it was very windy and the trees along Harrison were creaking, threatening to crack and fall upon the runners. Yes, we got to wear patient gowns and wristbands! Yes, it was raining on and off. Yes, I was slow. Yes, Cortney stayed in the car (ha ha ha). Yes, we got free breakfast at the end. Yes, IT WAS AWESOME! Ha! We had a really fun time!

It wasn't a competitive 5k, so everyone running it was doing it just for fun! For only $12, we got entrance into the race, a sweet tech running shirt, a band-aid kit, a pen, Jamba Juice coupons, a number to wear, free HOT delicious breakfast (complete with beggs - bagged eggs), taffy, and a heck of a time! YEAH! I'm glad we were able to do it! It was just a fun environment!

And the pics!

Heart attack in a breakfast! After running a 5k.........

Some of my night friends from work....Ashlie, Kamie, and Krystina.......

What a great way to spend a Saturday morning!

  1. Sounds fun (and cold)! Nice job running uphill in the wind and cold!

  2. It sounds like you guys had a blast. But I am glad that I was at home freezing instead of outside running with you guys and turning into an icicle.
