Girls' Camping Trip

Last weekend I went with my friend Emily and her friends up on a camping trip. We were planning on heading to the Uintas to go backpacking, but the weather looked to be cold and rainy, with strict no-fire restrictions. Because that didn't sound to appealing, they decided that camping up the canyon would be a much better option. We got there on Friday afternoon and just chilled until the rest of the group got there. We then took a little hike up to Donut Falls. It was so pretty up there! I just love them mountains!

When we got back, we made an awesome dutch oven dinner of pasta with veggies and chicken. Oh, and grilled corn on the cob. It was so delicious! We stayed in a group campsite the first night because the campground was so full. They let us park the camper in the parking lot. It was just funny because of this sign...

During dinner it started to rain and get chilly, so we headed into Pablo (Angie's camper) and talked about houses (4 of the 6 of us girls are currently in the market for homes). Then when the rain cleared up, we headed back out to make a fire (in a designated fire pit, don't worry!). It was then s'mores time! I love s'mores! I slept so good that night inside of the camper (We need us one of those!).

In the morning we switched camp sites and made some awesome mountain-man breakfast in the dutch ovens. I played with my macro lens to practice a bit. So cool!

After breakfast, we headed out to find us a good hike! On the way to the hike it began to pour. We decided to wait a bit and see if it would clear up. No such luck. We headed back to camp. Then 3 of the 6 girls headed home. After they left, the rain cleared up! So Emily, Angie, and I took our bikes and started up the canyon. The ride up was slow, but the ride down was awesome!

When we got back, I loaded up my car, made a sandwich to go, and took off! It was a fun little outing! Thanks, Emily for inviting me! It was fun to make some new friends, too! I missed Cortney while I was gone and hurried home to my Hully Bully.  On the night I got home, I was getting on to my desktop to start some photo editing when I noticed my background desktop photo:
Cortney had found this photo and put it up there! It made me chuckle as well as feel loved. :)  It was a good weekend!

  1. DeAnn, I am so impressed with your "close-up" photos! They are fabulous....my favorite is the pinecone with the blue background. I have set it as my desktop background & it looks so good. Nice work....Aunt Marcia
