Antelope Island

It's been getting warmer around here! My dad invited me for a nice horse ride. We went to pick up the horses at the pasture. My dad has 4 horses. We loaded up two of them in the trailer. Funny enough, one of the horses got out of the corral as we were trying to drive out of the pasture gate! He slipped right through a 3 foot space between the truck and the fence.  My anxiety hit the roof! It was the worst! The white horse (below) was prancing around on the asphalt through the neighborhood like it was no big deal. Luckily and eventually, we FINALLY got him back in the pasture (without letting the other horse out too!)

After all those shenanigans, we headed out to one of our favorite spots to ride, Antelope Island. The minute we arrived and got out of the truck, the gnats swarmed us and were attacking us. We put on some bug repellant to help. We saddled up the horses and started riding. We hadn't even gotten to the trailhead when the biting flies decided they wanted to make our lives miserable! They were HORRIBLE! Our experience had been nothing short of comical up to this point. Here's my dad trying to look at me without swatting some flies, ha ha!

It surely was a beautiful day!

We loaded the horses back up in the trailer and headed back to the horse pasture. We rode around for a bit there, and then headed out on the streets of C-city. It was such a beautiful day and so nice to get out! Luckily, there were no biting flies where we were riding!

Thanks for the ride, horsies!
